Let's talk about 'The Wave'.

That little thing that caravanners do when they see other caravanners on the road. It's a way of saying a quick hello to your fellow traveller.

And we think it's great, don't get me wrong.

BUT we have a confession to make:

we are NOT habitual wavers. (Shock, horror!!)

We are more than happy to return a wave whenever it comes our way (assuming we see it and it doesn't come at the last second with no time to respond).

And we definitely give a wave and a nod to all other travellers (regardless of if they're towing or not) when we're travelling remote. Because when you're out bush you've gotta look out for each other. Particularly if it's been hours or days since you've seen another person.

But do we feel the need to wave to every single vehicle we see towing a caravan or camper when we're driving on Highway One? God no!

If we waved to everyone we'd be constantly bloody waving! And personally we prefer to spend our time arguing with our 4yo, having long discussions about what the hell we're going to do with the rest of our lives, and having family singalongs to awesome rock bands.

So if you've passed us on the road and didn't get a wave please don't be offended. It's not you, it's us.
