We love a good station stay & this one is perfectly situated near the western end of the Nullarbor, making it a great little oasis in the desert to pull in to before/after your Nullarbor crossing.
Fraser Range Station - Oasis in the Outback is a working sheep station that also caters for travellers. They have both powered & unpowered sites, water available (a big deal in this area!), hot showers & a fantastic camp kitchen. They also offer a cooked meal every night (roughly $30/head) so if you pull in after a long day of driving and can't be bothered cooking you can just rock up to the dining room instead. Oh & they sell booze too 🍺
It's a popular place for a stopover - as soon as about 4 o'clock hits the caravans start rolling in. So it's very social & you're sure to meet some great travelers either going your way, or who have been the way you're going and can give you some tips! And there's been plenty of kids around to keep Ryan entertained which is always a bonus.
It'll probably be hot, and it'll probably be windy. But hey, it's the outback so that's to be expected. But being the outback you'll no doubt also be treated to a spectacular sunset that you can enjoy with your new friends and a cold drink in hand.
