How good is this?! The Great Ocean Drive (or Great Ocean Trail if you're feeling energenic & would rather walk) is a scenic loop west of Esperance, Western Australia that takes in some bloody amazing beaches. And the best bit? There's so many great beaches to choose from in Esperance, and so few people, that there's no such thing as a crowded beach.
It's about 45 minutes of drive time, but if the weathers good you're gunna want to take the best part of a day to visit all the beaches and really make the most of it. Plus the return journey passes by Lucky Bay Brewing so you can pop in for a cold one, & the infamous pink lake that's no longer even remotely pink (seriously don't get too excited about that one..)
Our favourites? Blue Haven & Twilight Beach.
Best for kids? 11 mile & Twilight.
Surf Beach? West Beach. Also rather treacherous so please don't swim here unless you know what you're doing.
